Welcome to Marrakesh, often called the “Red City” due to its distinctive red sandstone architecture. Meet your driver at the airport and transfer to your hotel to check in. The rest of the day is free to relax or explore the city at your own pace. Visit one of the city’s many hammams (traditional Moroccan bathhouses) to unwind after your flight, or head to Badi Palace. Once a magnificent royal residence commissioned by Sultan Ahmed al-Mansur in the late 16th century, the palace is now a well-preserved ruin, showcasing the remnants of its former glory.
Join your guide on a full-day tour of Marrakesh today, starting at Jemaa el-Fna, the city’s central square. Learn about the rich history of this iconic gathering space as you walk past snake charmers, street vendors, musicians, and storytellers. Then, head into the UNESCO-listedMedina of Marrakesh to peruse the vibrant souks offering an array of goods, from colorful textiles and intricate carpets to aromatic spices and handmade jewelry. If you see something you like, try bargaining like a local. As you delve deeper into the medina, you’ll come across the 12th-century Koutoubia Mosque.
Say goodbye to Marrakesh this morning as you set off on a 6.5-hour transfer to Boumalne Dades, nestled in the Dadès Valley. Your drive will take you through Tizi n’Tichka, the highest mountain pass in Morocco. Look out at the towering peaks of the High Atlas mountains while your driver navigates the dramatic twists and turns of the pass. As the journey continues, you’ll see traditional Berber villages, offering glimpses of terraced fields and distinctive mud-brick homes. Break up the drive with a stop in Taddarte to visit an argan oil cooperative.
Observe the local Berber women extract oil from the nuts of the argan tree while explaining the oil’s health and cosmetic benefits and culinary uses. Then, continue toOuarzazate, often called “Morocco’s Hollywood,” as it’s home to the Atlas Film Studios, one of the largest film studios in the world. Explore the winding streets, tour the Musée du Cinema (Cinema Museum), or opt for a one-hour tour of the film studios.
Back in the car, head next to Kelâat M’Gouna, the renowned “Valley of the Roses,” where rows of blooming rose bushes offer a captivating sight. You can visit a rose cooperative where skilled artisans transform delicate rose petals into fragrant rose water and essential oils crafted especially for the beauty industry. Then, complete the drive to your hotel in Boumalne Dades to check in before discovering the town’s bustling markets and traditional kasbahs (fortified mud-brick structures).
After a restful night in Boumalne Dades, hit the road again on a 4.5-hour transfer to Merzouga, a small village in the Sahara Desert. Your driver will stop at a few landmarks and desert towns, beginning with Tinghir. Stroll through the oasis’s palm groves and lush gardens to reach Ali Ait el Haj, the old Jewish quarter. Admire the mud-brick homes and synagogues before continuing to Todra Gorge. Go for a leisurely walk along the narrow canyon floor or a refreshing dip in the river surrounded by vibrant rock formations, which shift from deep red to golden hues as the sunlight changes.
Your next stop is Erfoud, where you can take in views of the hillside mines and visit a local artisan collective that incorporates the area’s fossils in their work. Next, travel to Rissani to observe the donkey “parking lot” and shop for souvenirs in Maison Tuareg. This popular cultural center and market sells items handcrafted by the local Tuareg people, known for their nomadic desert lifestyle. As you approach Merzouga, the vast sand dune system of Erg Chebbi will come into view. Look out at the ever-shifting dunes, which can reach heights of up to 650 feet (200 m).
On arrival, leave the car behind and switch to a camel to reach your luxury Bedouin camp just before sunset. After settling into your tent, climb up to the nearest dune to watch the sun dip below the horizon, transforming the sky into hues of orange, pink, and purple and casting a warm glow over the golden sand. Return to the camp for dinner around the campfire paired with traditional Berber music from the locals. Before climbing into bed, look up at the star-filled sky uninterrupted by city lights.
Explore more of Erg Chebbi today on a three-hour 4WD adventure, starting in the small village of Khemleya on the edge of the sand dunes. Here, you’ll visit Gnawa House to learn about the culture of the Gnawa people, particularly the soulful rhythms of their music rooted in sub-Saharan Africa. Sit back and listen as the maâlem (master musician) and their troupe play traditional instruments like the guembri (a three-stringed lute) and large metal castanets called krakebs. Watch passionate dancers move to the rhythm of the mesmerizing music as they connect with their ancestral spirits.
Trade one of Morocco’s most iconic natural wonders for its oldest imperial city, Fes. On the 7.5-hour transfer, you’ll travel through the Ziz Valley, known for its towering cliffs, deep gorges, and lush ribbon of palm groves that line the Ziz River. Keep an eye out for ksars, fortified houses typically made of mud-brick and surrounded by high walls to protect against invasions and harsh desert conditions. Take a break for a delicious lunch in Midelt, a small town known as the country’s apple capital as it’s surrounded by fertile orchards irrigated from the nearby Moulouya River, before continuing the drive.
Meet your local guide and head to the UNESCO-listed Medina of Fez to explore its narrow alleyways, bustling souks, and iconic landmarks. Step through Bab Bou Jeloud, an ornate gate adorned with intricate blue and green tilework, and you’ll be immediately greeted by aromatic spices, colorful handmade goods, and delicious street food. Search for souvenirs and admire the 12th-century walls surrounding the medina before continuing to the Marinid Tombs. Perched on a hillside, these ancient ruins are the final resting place of the Marinid dynasty.
After learning about the dynasty that ruled Morocco during the 13th to 15th centuries, head to a rooftop overlooking the Chouara Tannery. Enjoy uninterrupted views of the vast stone vats filled with colorful dyes and observe the workers using age-old techniques to treat and dye leather. Your next stop is the University of al-Qarawiyyin, the world’s oldest continuously operating university. You’ll also visit Bou Inania Madrasa or Al Attarine Madrasa, two 14th-century schools featuring intricate tile work, carved cedar wood, and delicate stucco embellishments.
Then, explore landmarks like the Royal Palace of Fes or Borj Nord Museum before ending the tour at one of the city’s best eateries to try the local cuisine. The day doesn’t stop there as you’ll unleash your inner artist with a pottery and mosaic workshop. Learn how to cut tiles into small pieces and assemble them to form a zellige—an intricate mosaic typically featuring complex patterns and designs that reflect Morocco’s rich cultural heritage. End the day in a local family’s home to learn more about Moroccan cuisine and culture while you share stories and savor a delicious meal together.
Today, you’ll discover Morocco’s “Blue Pearl,” Chefchaouen, nestled in the Rif mountains. On the three-hour transfer, watch the flat plains, forested hills, and Berber villages dotting the landscape pass by. When you arrive, check in at your hotel before heading out to explore the city at your own pace. Start with a stroll through the medina’s maze of streets to see the iconic blue-washed buildings that earned Chefchaouen it’s nickname. After shopping for souvenirs and indulging in mouthwatering street food, continue to Bouzafer Mosque, sitting atop a hill overlooking the town.
While non-Muslims aren’t allowed to enter the mosque, you can admire the traditional Moroccan architecture with its intricate tile work and distinctive minaret from the outside and enjoy panoramic city views. Just a short walk away, you’ll find Ras El Maa, a picturesque waterfall perfect for a picnic or a break amid the lush greenery. When hunger hits, make your way to Plaza Uta el-Hammam, a lively square surrounded by cafés, restaurants, and shops. Choose a restaurant with a patio to enjoy dinner overlooking the square and Alcazaba, a 15th-century fortress.
Continue your exploration of Morocco with a 2.5-hour transfer to Tangier, a port city on the Strait of Gibraltar. After checking in at your hotel, join your guide on a short tour of Hercules Caves, just 15 minutes outside the city. These impressive caves, carved into the limestone cliffs along the Atlantic coast, are believed to be the resting place of the legendary hero Hercules after he completed his epic labors. Head inside to see the colossal stalactites, stalagmites, and the opening that resembles the map of Africa with views of the ocean beyond.
After breakfast, meet your driver for a 3.5-hour transfer to Casablanca, Morocco’s largest city. As you set off, enjoy views of the Mediterranean coastline before it gives way to rolling hills and agricultural fields. Upon arrival, check in at your hotel, then enjoy some free time to explore the city at your own pace. Go for a stroll along La Corniche, a beachfront promenade offering uninterrupted views of the Atlantic Ocean. Continue your walk through the nearby Arab League Park to admire the colorful flowerbeds, tall palm trees, and tranquil fountains.
Then, make your way to the Old City to wander the narrow, winding streets lined with whitewashed buildings adorned with colorful doors and traditional tilework. You’ll also find an array of souks selling everything from aromatic spices and delicious street food to handmade jewelry and traditional Moroccan lanterns. End your self-guided afternoon in Ain Diab, a bustling beachfront area full of restaurants offering delicious Moroccan and international cuisine.
Before leaving Casablanca, head to the largest mosque in Morocco, Hassan II Mosque, for a one-hour guided tour of this architectural masterpiece. Be sure to dress modestly so you can enter the mosque and admire its intricate architecture. When you arrive, look up at the 688-foot-tall (210 m) minaret before entering the expansive prayer hall that can hold up to 25,000 people. Marvel at the intricate mosaics, elegant arches, and delicate chandeliers, then stroll through the expansive courtyards offering sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean.
After the tour, set off on a 4.5-hour transfer to the windswept seaside city of Essaouira. Break up the drive with a stop in El Jadida, a coastal city known for its well-preserved colonial architecture. Enjoy some free time to explore some of the city’s landmarks, like the UNESCO-listed Citadel of El Jadida. Explore the citadel’s well-preserved structures originally built by the Portuguese in the 16th century. Walk along the ramparts and look down over the glittering ocean, whitewashed buildings, and bustling markets. Back in the car, complete the drive to your hotel in Essaouira to check in and unwind.
Today, you’re free to explore Essaouira at leisure. You can shop in the UNESCO-listed medina, stroll around the bustling port to see blue fishing boats moored after the day’s catch, or try windsurfing at the beach. Visit Place Moulay Hassan, a busy square in the city center, to savor Moroccan mint tea at a café while watching street performers showcase their talents. Then, head to the Mellah (Jewish Quarter) to glimpse the city’s diverse history. As you wander the narrow streets, you’ll notice a blend of traditional Moroccan and Jewish architectural elements, with old houses adorned with star-shaped carvings.
In the afternoon, opt for a two-hour horseback riding tour along Essaouira Beach to watch the sunset over the ocean. After meeting your guide, learn a few basic riding techniques and get acquainted with your steed. When ready, mount your horse and trot along the long stretch of golden sand, enjoying the steady Atlantic breeze against your face. Look out to the rolling waves where windsurfing and kitesurfing enthusiasts dip and dive in the wind, then stop beside the picturesque dunes and rugged cliffs while you wait for the sun to cast beautiful reflections on the water.
Now that you’ve explored some of Morocco’s most iconic cities and natural landscapes, it’s time to return to Marrakesh on a three-hour transfer. As you pass through rolling hills and traditional villages, you’ll see nimble goats perched high in the gnarled branches of argan trees munching on the fruit. You’ll learn more about these precious trees as you stop at a women’s cooperative for a tour of the argan oil production circuit.
Observe the painstaking, manual methods involved, from drying the fruit to cracking the hard outer shells to reach the kernels and then cold-pressing the oil. If you’d like to pick up some souvenirs, many cooperatives sell a variety of products, such as pure argan oil for culinary or cosmetic use, soaps, and lotions. After the one-hour tour, complete the drive to your hotel in Marrakesh and enjoy a free evening.
Your penultimate day in Morocco begins with an extraordinary sunrise hot-air balloon ride over Marrakesh. Transfer to the launch site and complete a safety briefing before climbing in the basket to prepare for takeoff. As the burner ignites and the balloon slowly rises, you’ll enjoy panoramic views of the bustling medina, sprawling palm groves, and towering Atlas mountains in the distance. Learn about the city’s landmarks, history, and culture as you watch the sun slowly rise above the horizon. After one hour in the air, gently descend to the ground and enjoy a traditional Berber breakfast.
Later, visit a traditional hammam to relax after your early start. When you arrive, you’ll be greeted by skilled spa professionals who will guide you through the entire process. Begin with an ancient Moroccan bathing ritual that combines heat, steam, and meticulous body cleansing, including thorough exfoliation to remove impurities. Then, enjoy a therapeutic massage with aromatic oils that calm your senses and invigorate your body. The next step is a body mask infused with natural ingredients known for their rejuvenating properties. Complete the experience in the relaxation area with a soothing herbal tea.
In the evening, join your guide on a three-hour private food tour through the city’s bustling alleyways and vibrant markets. Learn about Morocco’s essential ingredients, cooking techniques, and rich culinary traditions as you wander through the medina, stopping at hidden food stalls and family-run eateries to try authentic dishes. Indulge in local confections like chebakia (deep-fried sesame cookie soaked in honey) or sellou (a sweet, crumbly mixture made from roasted flour, almonds, sesame seeds, honey, and spices). Then, savor an aromatic tajine before returning to your hotel.
Wake up early to take advantage of your last few hours in Morocco. Revisit the medina to shop for last-minute souvenirs or head to the Marrakesh Museum, housed in a beautifully restored 19th-century palace. Peruse the collection of traditional Moroccan art, including intricate pottery, colorful textiles, and delicate jewelry. You’ll also pass exhibits highlighting the country’s diverse history, from Berber to Islamic influences. When it’s time, return to the hotel, meet your driver, and transfer to the airport for your flight home. Safe travels!

EXCELLENT Based on 22 reviews Ian DNovember 18, 2024Verified Small Group Day Trip to Marrakesh My friends and I are all retired and came to Morocco on a golfing holiday. On the one day we weren’t golfing we wanted to visit Marrakesh and see many of the local sites. I had contacted Rachid before we travelled to Morocco and he had given me a day’s itinerary that looked just what we wanted. There were 7 of us and this was a private tour in an air conditioned Mercedes Minivan with our own English speaking guide (called Hussan). We were collected from our hotel at 9am and first visited the largest mosque in Marrakesh. We then moved to the Bahia Palace, then into The Medina and Souk, where we lunched in an authentic Moroccan restaurant. We saw traditional Moroccan rug making and a local pharmacy/apotheke with many local oils and herbal remedies. We finished our day visiting the botanical gardens that were developed by Yves St Laurent and his partner and lastly the museum of Yves St Laurent. Our guide was warm and friendly and very knowledgeable of Marrakesh and its history (and of Morocco as well). Our driver for the day was also excellent.I would recommend this day trip to any visitors to the Marrakesh area. Marina VMay 13, 2024Verified Morocco Private Tours provided great service from the beginning to the end of our journey. In April 2024, my family and I embarked on a trip to Morocco accompanied by three teenagers. Rashid skillfully organized our entire itinerary, relieving me of any planning responsibilities. He promptly addressed all my concerns and questions with great responsibility. The accommodations selected were superb, and the tour guides in each city were knowledgeable. Abdul, our driver, provided excellent service, remaining by our side throughout the journey and chauffeuring us to dinners and other destinations at our convenience. I highly recommend this company for anyone planning a Moroccan adventure. Yinka AOctober 22, 2023Verified Dune Buggy Tour of the Erg Chebbi Sahara Morocco Private Tour set up this dune buggy tour of the mysterious golden Zerg Chebbi Sahara. We couldn’t have been happier with the experienced dune buggy tour guides selected. They spoke English perfectly and knew every twist and turn of the landscape. They were respectful of our comfort levels and expertly guided us up, over and around dunes giving us breathless thrills and chills. Ours was a 4-hour. Had we known then what we know now, we’d have booked a full day dune buggy tour to watch the sun rise, explore the dunes and the watch the sun set over the Sahara. But this was a magical experience that will be emblazoned in our memories for the rest of our lives! Thank you Rachid et al! RNCPNJune 30, 2023Verified Amazing experience! Amazing experience in Morocco! What a beautiful and welcoming country, rich in history and culture. This company took care of everything and made sure we experienced as much of Morocco as possible! Our driver (Abdul) was like family by the end and he in conjunction with Mr Rachid was available for anything and everything we needed. I highly recommend Morocco Private Tour! Michael CMay 1, 2023Verified Another amazing trip to Morocco. We first came to Morocco in October last year and were looked after by Morocco Private Tour. We had a lot we still wished to see, so returned this April. Due to the excellent level of service we used the same company. We visited Marrakesh, with its amazing market, architecture and hospitality. We also spent some time in the spectacular Dades Valley, before venturing to the Sahara Dessert for a very special night out in a tent in the lee of the sand dunes. We took a camel ride across the sands to watch the sunset. Truly magical and special. The food throughout was excellent, and our thanks to Rashid for organising the tour once more and to wonderful Abdul our driver who looked after us throughout. The most important impression we always take home after our trips is the wonderful kindness, welcome and genuineness of the Mirrocans. SanaeApril 17, 2023Verified A Memorable Family Trip to Morocco We just returned from an 8-night family trip to Morocco and had the most memorable time. Morocco Private Tours was recommended to us by friends from the UK who went a few years back. From my initial email contact to the last day or the trip, Rachid was very responsive and helpful on email and whatsapp. We flew in from London Gatwick to Marrakech where we were met by Abdellah, who drove and looked after us through the entire trip. His expert driving and guiding was invaluable. Our teen-age kids sometimes felt a bit overwhelmed by the bustling streets of a Medina, but were always comforted to be back in the car with Abdellah who would show up exactly at the right time to pick us up.We stayed in Marrakech, Dades Valley, in the Sahara Desert, Fez, Rabat, and finally again in Marrakech. We also stopped at Ait Benhaddou, Quarzazate, Ifrane, Volubilis, Meknes, and Casablanca, and drove on the road of 1000 Kasbahs. All places of stay were beautiful and comfortable; we especially liked Riad Myra in Fez, Dar Riad Rihana in Dades Valley, Royal Luxury Camp, and Riad Melhoun in Marrakech. Everyone was welcoming and hospitable even though we visited during the holy month of Ramadan and the staff were fasting all day. In Dades Valley, the owner prepared a beautiful dinner for all the guests, which was a fusion between Moroccan and European. In the desert camp, we had the place to ourselves. The music at night was spontaneous and enjoyable; the staff kindly let us try the instruments. This was an unforgettable experience.Food was good throughout, some very reasonably priced and some expensive. The restaurants Abdellah took us to were all reasonably priced. The dinner in the first hotel in Marrakech (Movenpick) was an amazingly grand buffet but quite expensive at 450 DH pp and we felt we couldn't eat this much food in one go. I believe they only had the buffet option because it was during Ramadan. Our favourite vote goes to the dinner in Riad Rihana in Dades Valley and the massive Tagine cooked by Faizal in the Royal Luxury Camp. The Berber pizza in Rissani was also lovely. All of these 3 meals were included in the trip.We had a private guide in each city who were all professional and punctual. To highlight some of them, we very much enjoyed walking with Mohammed in Fez. From him, we learned a lot about the Medina, Islam, education, daily lives, Moroccan history and customs. From Rachid in Meknes, we learned more about Islam and the Mosques and how to bargain, and Simo in Rabat about politics, history and economics. We did some shopping in the co-operatives (Berber rugs, Argan Oil and the Rosewater). The shopping experience itself was quite a novelty, but as we're not used to the bargaining we found it tricky. Rachid the guide in Meknes gave us the most guidance about this and the Damasquinurie co-operative was not pushy at all. In hindsight, we should have waited to buy the Berber rugs and not gone to the co-operative in Marrakech at the beginning because the rugs had to come with us through the trip. The Argan Oil and the Rosewater co-operatives were run by women and it was fascinating to learn about the protection of the Berber traditional method of making the products. We always needed to have small bills for tips to the guides, restaurants and porters, but the ATM usually gave us just 100 and 200 MDHs, so it was necessary to purchase small items to break the bills. With Rachid and Abdellah we got to see so many different aspects of Morocco and 8 days were certainly not enough. We met some very kind-hearted people on the trip. Hopefully, we can visit the country again in the future. David DFebruary 19, 2023Verified Very good Super Hospitable, was able to be very agile and make changes on the spot, Rashid is incredibly friendly and professional, knows his work. Morocco a beautiful country with beautiful people. Sophia SJanuary 22, 2023Verified Excellent Experience was excellent. Driver picked us up from the airport and do the airport. Tours were great and private with great guides and drivers. Highly recommend if visiting Morocco. Michael COctober 24, 2022Verified Six days of Wonder in Morocco We got in touch with Morocco Private Tour because we wished for a bespoke and special trip to Morocco. I realised we were onto a good thing from my first contact with Rashid via email. From the planning stage till the end Rashid organised a trip that delighted us. He would attend to every query from us quickly and with great energy and tweaked things around until they were perfect for our needs. Upon arrival in Tangiers we were met by Abdul who would be our driver for the next 6 days. Abdul is kindness personified. Nothing was a problem and he looked after us with great diligence and kindness. During our trip we stayed in beautiful Dars and Riads. I would like to make special mention of Maison de Tangiers, where apart from the grounds, the staff were incredibly welcoming and Dar Jasmine in Chefchaouen where we were greeted like royalty and had wonderful rooms overlooking the stunning blue city. In each town we visited we had our own private guide. They were all punctual and excellently versed in the local history and geography of their areas. An outstanding guide was Mohammed from Fes. Walking the streets with him, with his calming presence and quiet disposition was a real treat. He took us to the restaurant where we had the best meal in the whole trip. The food overall was delicious. We felt safe at all times, and Morocco has become since I last visited 25 years ago, a genuinely welcoming country where the streets were clean, green and safe. A country is not only measured by its history and culture but by its people. You couldn't hope for a friendlier people than Moroccans. It has been a real pleasure to have been introduced to all of this by Rashid and Abdul, and for a few days to have experienced and been part of this wonderful culture. gs202210morOctober 18, 2022Verified Amazing experience Abdoullah has been a wonderful driver while giving us guidance and answers to all of our questions. We had a very short but intense trip booked in a small group from Marrakech To Merzouga to Fez in 2(!) days, and we got lucky because it ended up with just the two of us in the small group. The company really did an amazing job providing us with this experience without holding back. We have enjoyed all of the stops, from Ait Ben Haddou up to Ifran. All of the many faces Morocco has, from snowy mountains in the High Atlas, to dry sand dunes in Erg Chebbi, to pouring rain in Ifran National Park (while still being able to spot Macaques). We owe special thanks and gratefulness to Abdoullah who went above and beyond our expectations, with his deep knowledge on all subjects with regards to Moroccan landscapes, politics and history. His humor, warm friendliness and politeness made this trip unforgettable and a strong recommendation to all.

Samuel Van G.October 18, 2022Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Abdoullah has been a wonderful driver while giving us guidance and answers to all of our questions.
