Welcome to Morocco! Meet your driver at Marrakech’s Menara Airport, then head to your riad (traditional guesthouse) in the city center. You’ll be staying in Marrakech’s medina (old town), a historic area filled with winding alleyways and bustling markets.
Typically, all rooms in a Moroccan riad are decorated differently. These stately homes are built around a shaded courtyard and often feature architectural elements such as scalloped archways, fountains, and zellige tiles. Upon arrival at your riad, enjoy a glass of mint tea in the courtyard or on the rooftop terrace and rest up for a busy day of sightseeing tomorrow.
Marrakech is Morocco’s second-largest metropolis and is known as the “Red City,” thanks to the natural red pigment in its walls. Explore the city’s vibrant sights, sounds, and smells as you wander through the bustling center on a guided tour. You’ll visit sites like the Bahia Palace and Koutoubia Mosque, explore souks (markets) and hidden fondouks (historic inns which once hosted travelers and merchants), and see Jemaa el-Fna, the city’s main square.
Later, enjoy a self-guided visit to the Majorelle Gardens, a botanical garden and museum complex that offers a refreshing reprieve from the heat of sunny Marrakech. This space dates back to the 1920s when French artist Jacques Majorelle planted the garden and painted the surrounding buildings a brilliant shade of blue. Later, fashion designer Yves Saint-Laurent restored the gardens to their current splendid state. After your visit, return to Jemaa el-Fna for dinner on your own, or see more of the medina on a private food tour.
Spend your third day in Marrakech getting to know the city on your own, or enjoy some guided activities of your choosing. If you’d like, you can start your morning with a hot air balloon ride, where you’ll have the chance to watch the sunrise over the desert surrounding Marrakech. The pastel colors, soft lighting, and crisp early-morning air create a tranquil experience very different from the typical hustle and bustle of the city. After the sunrise, relax with breakfast and a Moroccan pastry in the air.
In the afternoon, you can take part in a three-hour cooking class, where you’ll learn to prepare some of the country’s most iconic foods. With a small group of two to four people, you’ll bake bread and prepare a tasty starter, main course, and dessert. Once the food is ready, savor your creations with a good bottle of Moroccan wine. You could also cap off your day with a visit to a relaxing hammam (traditional bathhouse and spa), where you’ll enjoy a calming wash and scrub with Moroccan black soap, as well as an argan oil massage.
Today you’ll enjoy a comfortable private transfer from Marrakech to your accommodation in Imlil in the High Atlas mountains. After an early departure, drive through a picturesque valley known for its lush meadows and beautiful green gardens. Even in the winter months, you can catch glimpses of several varieties of plants, shrubs, and trees. Then, make a stop in the city of Asni. Although it’s home to only 20,000 inhabitants, Asni plays an important role for the regional residents. Every Saturday, the city holds a weekly souk for those who need to exchange goods and stock up on food.
Next, drive between the hills of the Atlas Mountains and the Moulay Brahim Gorge, taking in the stunning scenery around you. Your next stop is Imlil in the heart of Toubkal National Park. Upon arrival, enjoy a glass of mint tea with your guide before starting your easy hike to Armed, the highest and largest settlement in Imlil Valley. Armed is a traditional Berber village with authentic farming techniques and building structures. Spend some time with a Berber family as you hike down through the village of Ait Souka and enjoy a traditional Moroccan meal in their home.
Set off from Imlil and transfer to your accommodation in the Agafay Desert near Marrakech. This journey takes about two hours. Along the way, discover the natural beauty of Morocco’s High Atlas mountains and the region’s scenic valleys. First, pass through Ourika Valley, known for its famous waterfalls. Enjoy an easy 1.5-hour walk to the waterfalls with the help of an experienced mountain guide. Next, visit with the Berber women who work to extract oil from the argan nut. Your driver will follow a secluded mountain road that weaves through traditional Berber villages built from adobe and stones.
Discover the authentic life of Berber people and enjoy a delicious lunch in a typical Berber home with an amazing view over Sidi Fares Valley. Then, before heading to the Agafay Desert, visit the Asni Valley, which is famous for its apple, walnut, almond, and peach trees. Gaze over snowy summits as you take in the beauty of the Tahnaout Valley. After settling into your desert camp, enjoy a welcome tea and camel ride through the arid plateau. You’ll experience complete serenity and a beautiful sunset far away from the busy city. Return in time for dinner and a campfire under the stars.
Wake up to catch the sunrise and head back to your camp for breakfast before hitting the road and making your way to Essaouira, a journey of about three hours. En route, you’ll catch a glimpse of goats hanging out on the branches of argan trees, nibbling on some argan fruit. Many animals wouldn’t bother trying to climb this prickly, thorny tree, but these goats are willing to risk it for the sake of a tasty snack. The highlight of this journey is the stop at a women’s cooperative for a guided tour of the argan oil production circuit.
After settling into your accommodation in Essaouira, spend some time exploring this quaint city, which offers a peaceful contrast to frenetic Marrakech. Peruse the medina and shop for traditional products in the souks, relax in central Moulay El Hassan Square, watch fishermen at work at the city’s historic port, explore the Rabbi Haim Pinto Synagogue and Jewish Quarter, or soak up the sun at Essaouira Beach—the choice is yours.
Explore the charming city of Essaouira with the help of a private tour guide. Learn about Essaouira’s long history of different influences, including Indigenous Berbers, Phoenicians, Romans, and Portuguese, who built its fortress and ramparts in 1506. You can also take this opportunity to stop at the Spice Souk, the place to go for herbal medicine, Berber lipstick, exotic spices, and ghassoul (clay used in face masks). After wandering through the city’s central plazas and historic neighborhoods, your guide will leave you at the long and sandy Essaouira Beach.
Later in the day, you can enjoy an optional private kitesurfing lesson. The windy coast of Essaouira attracts kitesurfers, windsurfers, and wave surfers from around the world. Your guide will take you to one of the best surf spots near Essaouira, Sidi Kaouki Beach. Learn a few basic techniques and how to hold, maneuver, and guide the kite, then take some free time to practice and improve your skills independently.
Spend today discovering Essaouira at your leisure. If you’d like, walk the Skala de la Kasbah (the 18th-century seafront ramparts) along the coast. Old brass cannons line the walls and offer viewing access over the Atlantic. Then, return to the medina before making your way to the windswept beach. Later, enjoy a lunch of fresh-caught seafood.
If you’d like to do some guided activities, there are several interesting options for you to try. You could discover Essaouira’s incredible and flavorful cuisine with a cooking class at a traditional riad. Together with a local chef and culinary enthusiast, you’ll learn how to prepare one of the most popular and authentic dishes in Morocco: tajine. Another option is to embrace the tranquility of Essaouira with a serene horseback riding excursion on the beach. As you gallop along, you’ll leave the bustling tourist area behind and discover the beach’s lesser-known areas.
After checking out of your hotel, enjoy a comfortable private transfer from Essaouira to Marrakech Menara Airport (RAK), which takes about three hours. Depending on your flight time, you can opt to spend a final relaxing morning in Essaouira. Your driver will ensure that you arrive at the airport in plenty of time for your flight. Have a safe and pleasant trip home or to your next destination!

EXCELLENT Based on 22 reviews Ian DNovember 18, 2024Verified Small Group Day Trip to Marrakesh My friends and I are all retired and came to Morocco on a golfing holiday. On the one day we weren’t golfing we wanted to visit Marrakesh and see many of the local sites. I had contacted Rachid before we travelled to Morocco and he had given me a day’s itinerary that looked just what we wanted. There were 7 of us and this was a private tour in an air conditioned Mercedes Minivan with our own English speaking guide (called Hussan). We were collected from our hotel at 9am and first visited the largest mosque in Marrakesh. We then moved to the Bahia Palace, then into The Medina and Souk, where we lunched in an authentic Moroccan restaurant. We saw traditional Moroccan rug making and a local pharmacy/apotheke with many local oils and herbal remedies. We finished our day visiting the botanical gardens that were developed by Yves St Laurent and his partner and lastly the museum of Yves St Laurent. Our guide was warm and friendly and very knowledgeable of Marrakesh and its history (and of Morocco as well). Our driver for the day was also excellent.I would recommend this day trip to any visitors to the Marrakesh area. Marina VMay 13, 2024Verified Morocco Private Tours provided great service from the beginning to the end of our journey. In April 2024, my family and I embarked on a trip to Morocco accompanied by three teenagers. Rashid skillfully organized our entire itinerary, relieving me of any planning responsibilities. He promptly addressed all my concerns and questions with great responsibility. The accommodations selected were superb, and the tour guides in each city were knowledgeable. Abdul, our driver, provided excellent service, remaining by our side throughout the journey and chauffeuring us to dinners and other destinations at our convenience. I highly recommend this company for anyone planning a Moroccan adventure. Yinka AOctober 22, 2023Verified Dune Buggy Tour of the Erg Chebbi Sahara Morocco Private Tour set up this dune buggy tour of the mysterious golden Zerg Chebbi Sahara. We couldn’t have been happier with the experienced dune buggy tour guides selected. They spoke English perfectly and knew every twist and turn of the landscape. They were respectful of our comfort levels and expertly guided us up, over and around dunes giving us breathless thrills and chills. Ours was a 4-hour. Had we known then what we know now, we’d have booked a full day dune buggy tour to watch the sun rise, explore the dunes and the watch the sun set over the Sahara. But this was a magical experience that will be emblazoned in our memories for the rest of our lives! Thank you Rachid et al! RNCPNJune 30, 2023Verified Amazing experience! Amazing experience in Morocco! What a beautiful and welcoming country, rich in history and culture. This company took care of everything and made sure we experienced as much of Morocco as possible! Our driver (Abdul) was like family by the end and he in conjunction with Mr Rachid was available for anything and everything we needed. I highly recommend Morocco Private Tour! Michael CMay 1, 2023Verified Another amazing trip to Morocco. We first came to Morocco in October last year and were looked after by Morocco Private Tour. We had a lot we still wished to see, so returned this April. Due to the excellent level of service we used the same company. We visited Marrakesh, with its amazing market, architecture and hospitality. We also spent some time in the spectacular Dades Valley, before venturing to the Sahara Dessert for a very special night out in a tent in the lee of the sand dunes. We took a camel ride across the sands to watch the sunset. Truly magical and special. The food throughout was excellent, and our thanks to Rashid for organising the tour once more and to wonderful Abdul our driver who looked after us throughout. The most important impression we always take home after our trips is the wonderful kindness, welcome and genuineness of the Mirrocans. SanaeApril 17, 2023Verified A Memorable Family Trip to Morocco We just returned from an 8-night family trip to Morocco and had the most memorable time. Morocco Private Tours was recommended to us by friends from the UK who went a few years back. From my initial email contact to the last day or the trip, Rachid was very responsive and helpful on email and whatsapp. We flew in from London Gatwick to Marrakech where we were met by Abdellah, who drove and looked after us through the entire trip. His expert driving and guiding was invaluable. Our teen-age kids sometimes felt a bit overwhelmed by the bustling streets of a Medina, but were always comforted to be back in the car with Abdellah who would show up exactly at the right time to pick us up.We stayed in Marrakech, Dades Valley, in the Sahara Desert, Fez, Rabat, and finally again in Marrakech. We also stopped at Ait Benhaddou, Quarzazate, Ifrane, Volubilis, Meknes, and Casablanca, and drove on the road of 1000 Kasbahs. All places of stay were beautiful and comfortable; we especially liked Riad Myra in Fez, Dar Riad Rihana in Dades Valley, Royal Luxury Camp, and Riad Melhoun in Marrakech. Everyone was welcoming and hospitable even though we visited during the holy month of Ramadan and the staff were fasting all day. In Dades Valley, the owner prepared a beautiful dinner for all the guests, which was a fusion between Moroccan and European. In the desert camp, we had the place to ourselves. The music at night was spontaneous and enjoyable; the staff kindly let us try the instruments. This was an unforgettable experience.Food was good throughout, some very reasonably priced and some expensive. The restaurants Abdellah took us to were all reasonably priced. The dinner in the first hotel in Marrakech (Movenpick) was an amazingly grand buffet but quite expensive at 450 DH pp and we felt we couldn't eat this much food in one go. I believe they only had the buffet option because it was during Ramadan. Our favourite vote goes to the dinner in Riad Rihana in Dades Valley and the massive Tagine cooked by Faizal in the Royal Luxury Camp. The Berber pizza in Rissani was also lovely. All of these 3 meals were included in the trip.We had a private guide in each city who were all professional and punctual. To highlight some of them, we very much enjoyed walking with Mohammed in Fez. From him, we learned a lot about the Medina, Islam, education, daily lives, Moroccan history and customs. From Rachid in Meknes, we learned more about Islam and the Mosques and how to bargain, and Simo in Rabat about politics, history and economics. We did some shopping in the co-operatives (Berber rugs, Argan Oil and the Rosewater). The shopping experience itself was quite a novelty, but as we're not used to the bargaining we found it tricky. Rachid the guide in Meknes gave us the most guidance about this and the Damasquinurie co-operative was not pushy at all. In hindsight, we should have waited to buy the Berber rugs and not gone to the co-operative in Marrakech at the beginning because the rugs had to come with us through the trip. The Argan Oil and the Rosewater co-operatives were run by women and it was fascinating to learn about the protection of the Berber traditional method of making the products. We always needed to have small bills for tips to the guides, restaurants and porters, but the ATM usually gave us just 100 and 200 MDHs, so it was necessary to purchase small items to break the bills. With Rachid and Abdellah we got to see so many different aspects of Morocco and 8 days were certainly not enough. We met some very kind-hearted people on the trip. Hopefully, we can visit the country again in the future. David DFebruary 19, 2023Verified Very good Super Hospitable, was able to be very agile and make changes on the spot, Rashid is incredibly friendly and professional, knows his work. Morocco a beautiful country with beautiful people. Sophia SJanuary 22, 2023Verified Excellent Experience was excellent. Driver picked us up from the airport and do the airport. Tours were great and private with great guides and drivers. Highly recommend if visiting Morocco. Michael COctober 24, 2022Verified Six days of Wonder in Morocco We got in touch with Morocco Private Tour because we wished for a bespoke and special trip to Morocco. I realised we were onto a good thing from my first contact with Rashid via email. From the planning stage till the end Rashid organised a trip that delighted us. He would attend to every query from us quickly and with great energy and tweaked things around until they were perfect for our needs. Upon arrival in Tangiers we were met by Abdul who would be our driver for the next 6 days. Abdul is kindness personified. Nothing was a problem and he looked after us with great diligence and kindness. During our trip we stayed in beautiful Dars and Riads. I would like to make special mention of Maison de Tangiers, where apart from the grounds, the staff were incredibly welcoming and Dar Jasmine in Chefchaouen where we were greeted like royalty and had wonderful rooms overlooking the stunning blue city. In each town we visited we had our own private guide. They were all punctual and excellently versed in the local history and geography of their areas. An outstanding guide was Mohammed from Fes. Walking the streets with him, with his calming presence and quiet disposition was a real treat. He took us to the restaurant where we had the best meal in the whole trip. The food overall was delicious. We felt safe at all times, and Morocco has become since I last visited 25 years ago, a genuinely welcoming country where the streets were clean, green and safe. A country is not only measured by its history and culture but by its people. You couldn't hope for a friendlier people than Moroccans. It has been a real pleasure to have been introduced to all of this by Rashid and Abdul, and for a few days to have experienced and been part of this wonderful culture. gs202210morOctober 18, 2022Verified Amazing experience Abdoullah has been a wonderful driver while giving us guidance and answers to all of our questions. All of the many faces Morocco has, from snowy mountains in the High Atlas, to dry sand dunes in Erg Chebbi, to pouring rain in Ifran National Park (while still being able to spot Macaques). We owe special thanks and gratefulness to Abdoullah who went above and beyond our expectations, with his deep knowledge on all subjects with regards to Moroccan landscapes, politics and history. His humor, warm friendliness and politeness made this trip unforgettable and a strong recommendation to all.
